Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A toddler was one of the people hurt in the event. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
