One 60-day cruise circling Australia has been cancelled following the fatal incident of an senior female passenger who was stranded by the cruise liner on a remote tropical isle.

The passenger had been trekking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the Coral Adventurer, but broke off from the party for a pause. The vessel departed without her and returned after some time after the crew became aware the passenger was not present.

A large-scale hunt located her body the next day.

Officials are examining the event, in coordination with police and the official investigator.

The CEO of the cruise operator stated that guests and staff on the ship were told that the remainder of the voyage had been terminated due to the "tragic passing and prior engine troubles".

Via official communication, he further stated that travelers would be issued a full refund, and said the organization was working "to arrange the return journeys of the travelers via private aircraft".

Authorities also released an updated communication, and said they had "provided a notice to the Master" prohibiting any further travelers from boarding the liner.

The spokesperson said that they would attend the ship in the port city upon its arrival.

Relatives Statement

The offspring of the deceased woman said that her relatives was "stunned and distressed that the liner left Lizard Island after an organised excursion without my mother".

Via her announcement, she characterized her parent as an "energetic 80-year-old" who was a affiliate of a hiking group.

"According to scant information we have been provided, it appears that there was a failure of responsibility and basic judgment," she mentioned.

She further stated that she desired the inquiry would be able to determine what "the company should have performed that might have preserved Mum's life".
